Encik Tajul Azwa Bani Hashim

Dengan perlantikan Puan Nik Airina sebagai Pengarah Urusan Opus Group Berhad, Encik Tajul Azwa Bani Hashim akan mengambil-alih tugas beliau dan dilantik sebagai Ketua Pegawai Operasi, PLUS Expressways Berhad berkuatkuasa 1 Oktober 2010. Encik Tajul is currently the Chief Executive Officer of PROPEL, a position he held since July 2007.

Encik Tajul started his career in UEM Group at PEB in February 1989 as Senior Systems Analyst and rose to the position of General Manager, Operations Division. Beliau kemudiannya ditukarkan ke Faber Medi-Serve Sdn Bhd (FMS) sebagai Pengarah Urusan pada Januari 1997.

Encik Tajul memperolehi Ijazah BSc. Mathematics from University of Tasmania, Australia dan Ijazah BSc. Information Science dari universiti tersebut. Sebagai Pengarah Urusan PROPEL, beliau telah dapat melaksanakan beberapa inisiatif seperti increased departmental awareness of managing Balance-Sheet items, with the objective to promote more productive utilisation of assets; better management of inventories, hasten claims and collection processes in order to gain more efficient use of capital. With his creativity, he had introduced an in-house assembled robotic flagman, made modifications to patrolling vehicles, etc.

His ideas had prompted his staff to generate, explore and implement new ideas towards improving productivitiy, quality and safety of services. As a result of his effort to secure an infrastructure maintenance contract in Abu Dhabi, UAE commencing in 2009, the Company managed to reduce over-reliance on a single customer by promoting the business to “external” customers. Under his leadership, PROPEL’s subsidiary, Soil Centralab Sdn Bhd has been awarded the prestigious 21 International Construction Award (New Millenium Award) in 2009 by Editorial Office of Trade Leader’s Club in Madrid for its in-house state-of-the-art testing lab and facilities.

Whilst in FMS, from the takeover date of privatization of hospital support services at 72 (later grew to 78) hospitals from the Ministry of Health, he was responsible for setting the vision, strategy, objectives and the overall management of action plans in undertaking the facilities management at the public hospitals distributed over 6 states in Malaysia. He was also responsible to address over-reliance on the concession by pursuing business from private hospitals and overseas. Arguably these efforts have has ensured the success of FMS today.
